(Infographic) A window isn’t ‘A’ window

“This is chunky”.

The words uttered to me when I presented a corner sample to an architect. The system we presented was CS 77 - the prospective client liked the clean, sharp lines of the frame, however it was too thick - our corner sample frame is 2.5”. However, this isn’t ‘the’ frame for the CS 77 - it has 5 different frame profiles, ranging in height form 2-4”. It’s what allows the CS 77 to scaled up and down to different projects such as residential, mixed use, or high rise buildings. Eventually, we were able to illustrate that the sample presented was merely one of dozens of options when it comes to frame design, height and configuration. We discussed that a 2” frame was an option for a thinner frame design, or even the SL 38 cubic, with its 1.3” flat faced frame.

The difference between janela’s products and other residential window systems is the level of variability in design and application. Our windows are commercially graded - yet have the capability to accommodate intricate design details sometimes required on custom residential projects. Essentially, a window isn’t ‘a’ window - it’s a system that uses several frame designs, dozens of transoms, and countless corner connections and unique concepts like hidden vents to allow you to achieve every intricate details - down to the last inch - whether you’re restoring an old brick condo, building a modern town home, or simply want to expand the glass surface of a new home.
